The Intel Reader is easy-to-use
The Intel® Reader is easy to use, even for those who are new to technology. Users can relate this device to a digital camera, simply point, and shoot, and then listen to it read aloud printed text for things such as schoolwork, printed work documents, magazines, mail, cookbooks and more. Easy-to-locate buttons, audio and visual navigation, and straightforward menus make it easy to locate the functions users need.
Reading on-the-go is easy with the Intel Reader
Weighing around a pound, about the size of a paperback book, the Intel® Reader can replace a bulky computer and scanner in one device that’s a convenient size for work, school, home, or on the road. The Intel® Reader comes with it’s own carrying case, and fits easily in a purse or backpack … it’s ideal for reading on the go, with a sturdy magnesium case and generous battery life. Being as easy as point, shoot, and listen enables reading in a variety of locations - from work and school to shopping or travel, making it easy to read signs, product labels, concert programs, guidebooks and other text on the go. The ear buds allow private listening, clearly and discretely, without disturbing others.
The Intel Reader has strong content management features
The Intel® Reader’s ability to manage and access files efficiently helps people accomplish tasks faster. Features like being able to bookmark favorite documents for fast access can be found within the library. Users can easily navigate documents by word, sentence, or page, and they can go to a specific page or jump to the beginning or the end of a document with ease. During playback, the text is highlighted as it is read aloud (also known as dual mode) and users can even have the Reader pause and spell out highlighted words.
Intel Reader Content and Playback Choices
The Intel® Reader can playback a variety of file formats. Its ability to import, and export files means more storage options, giving the user a variety of ways to access content. The Intel® Reader will play most content, including MP3, DAISY* books and even text moved from a computer, as well as MP3 or WAV music files. Users can also generate their own audio versions of printed materials, such as MP3s, that can be played on most MP3 players or computers. The lifelike voices users hear during play back of captured and edited content can be altered, selecting gender, pitch, and speed to suit personal preferences. With a USB connection file transfers are made easy from a computer or USB drive.
