CTL® Sales Director Gary Welk attended the exciting FIRST Robotics Competition Championship in St. Louis, Missouri April 23-26. More than 12,000 students from around the globe traveled to St. Louis to put their engineering skills to the test at the annual FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Championship, held at the Edward Jones Dome.
The three-day event came down to a heart-pounding conclusion Saturday night in front of a roaring crowd of 20,000 when four teams from San Jose, California; Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; Dallas, Texas; and Holland, Michigan won the coveted FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC®) Winning Alliance. In this year’s game, Aerial Assist, FRC® teams took to the field, where competing Alliances scored points by throwing balls over a truss, catching balls and putting as many balls in goals as possible.
CTL® and our 2go® PC brand has been a proud Gold-Level Sponsor of the FRC since 2009. For the past five years, we’ve been a resource to all the new teams for their 2go PCs, supplying CTL 2go PC E12V or 2go Classmate E14 student laptops to interface with and control their robots.
