Portland, Ore. – September 18, 2007
CTL Corporation, with families of custom-engineered computers, monitors and televisions, and a growing e-waste recycling business, today announced positive results among its key business indicators for the first half of 2007, including a 30 percent increase in its overall revenue.
Although the privately-held firm does not release specific financial results, it attributed the performance to strong demand for its expanded line of CTL-branded PC monitors; both of which led to new sales commitments by several leading distribution partners.
CTL also saw the business of its e-waste recycling unit, Retronics, grow on the strength of four new corporate contracts (Retronics now serves more than 50 Portland-area firms with e-waste service). Further, Retronics has now safely and responsibly recycled more than 1,000,000 lbs. of electronic waste.
“Our first half performance is significant in that our television and recycling businesses have been such strong contributors,” said Erik Stromquist, CTL’s executive vice president. “It reflects our strategy to maintain a diverse product and service offering.”
Another indicator that CTL continues to be successful is that it has added four of the leading U.S. electronics distributors – PGW Distributing (Lutz, Fla.), Pioneer Music Distributing (Chanute, Kan.), Potter Distributing, Inc. (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Davis Distribution (Newell, W.Va.) – to its nationwide network that now numbers 22. Further, CRN, the number one magazine serving value added resellers (VARs) and technology integrators, has just named CTL #5 on its list of leading systems builders. Lastly, the company is seeing its contracts with government, education and retail customers being renewed and volume commitments increased.
“In looking ahead, we have much to be excited about,” Stromquist added. “We expect our current businesses to continue to perform well, and we’re on track to build on what we offer in products and services with innovations that will take us into new markets and present us with very promising opportunities.”
