CTL Supports All Hands Raised With Funds and Runs on Hood to Coast Team

CTL Hits the Road Again for Annual Hood to Coast Relay

CTL loves  giving back to our community. This year, we’re continuing our tradition of taking part in the Hood to Coast Relay, a tradition in Oregon. The 36th annual Hood to Coast Relay is one of the largest and longest-running relay races in the world.  And, CTL is participating to support All Hands Raised, an organization that brings together government, education, nonprofit and business leaders to promote change.

Joining with Gerding Edlen, CTL put together a team of runners for this year’s event. As a result of the efforts of both parties, All Hands Raised will receive $6,000. The team, ‘Principles of Pace’, will compete in the relay.

About the Race

The Hood to Coast relay is on many people’s “bucket list.” For the last 26 years,  Hood To Coast reached its maximum number of teams participating. For 19 years, the relay has reached its limit on “Opening Day” of team registrations. The course runs approximately 320 km, (200 miles), with course length changes by 1 to 5 km each year due to small changes made by race organizers. The relay begins at Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood, the tallest peak in Oregon. It continues through Portland and over the Oregon Coast Range. The finish line is at Seaside Beach on the Oregon Coast.

The CTL – Gerding Edlen team is one of 1,050 12-person teams participating in the 2017 Hood to Coast race. Every year, organizers choose teams by lottery from the entries postmarked on the opening day of registration. This year’s teams were picked in October of 2016.

Sprinter All the Way to the Finish Line!

The CTL Sprinter van is the newest addition to the CTL fleet. The van took a break from hauling CTL products around town to our customers and resellers, and took to the Hood to Coast to haul the CTL team from Timberline Lodge to Seaside. Our HTC sprinters enjoyed the spacious Sprinter which featured a great new van wrap designed by our in-house graphic designer, Emily! The Principles of Pace, the CTL Hood to Coast team, came in 95th place! That’s pretty impressive! Way to go team!
