Most computers dispel heat with heat sinks and fans. This system works most of the time, but sometimes electronic components produce more heat than simple air circulation can dispel. Computers like the CTL™ Vector XT400 that use high-end chips with lots of transistors can overwhelm an air cooling system.
That’s where liquid cooling comes in. Fluid has a higher thermal conductivity than air, therefore, moving heat away faster. Water also has a higher specific heat capacity and can absorb more heat, keeping the processor cooler. The H80 system is a compact liquid-cooling system where a water block is combined into a single unit with a pump and is connected to the radiator with tubes. The cooling system is hermetically sealed and guaranteed for 5 years use.
The Corsair Hydro Series H80 includes a double-thick radiator and one 120mm fan. The H80 is a sealed, closed-loop system that comes pre-filled. The H80 never needs maintenance or refilling. This system includes a low-profile, light-weight cooling unit with a micro-channel copper cold plate and a split flow manifold. The result of all this attention to fluid dynamics is CPU cooling that’s remarkably efficient. And, the H80’s total noise level is lower than most stock CPU fans.
