Microsoft Office: Interactive Tools that Prepare Students for the Workforce

According to a recent Education World article, familiarity with Microsoft Office is necessary as part of a student curriculum to prepare young people for the workforce. Ray Kelly, CEO of Certiport, a certification testing company, was recently interviewed by Education World and stated the importance of learning computer skills. “As technology has become pervasive in the classroom and the workplace, solid technology skills are essential for every student,” he said in the interview. In addition to a curriculum that includes technology, science, engineering and mathematics, the article stated that learning Microsoft Office and Web literacy skills would be important to help students succeed in modern jobs.

Microsoft Office makes it easy for students to prepare reports and presentations and collaborate with other students. While using programs such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Access and Publisher, students not only have the tools they need to complete tasks efficiently, they’re also learning valuable job skills in the process. Microsoft Office is available in 2013 Home and Student edition as well as the cloud-based Office 365 subscriptions for Home and Student or University. CTL® is your provider for Microsoft Office software packages and can pre-install the programs onto your new laptop or PC!
