What is a Google Chromebox?
A Google Chrombox is a small form-factor (SFF or “mini”) PC that runs on the Chrome operating system (OS). The Chrome OS allows you to sync pre-existing Google accounts with the files on your Chromebox computer and work primarily on web-based applications to email, write, stream videos, create spreadsheets, and so forth.
If you’re looking for a small yet mighty Chromebox to power up your computer monitors, browse our collection to find one that best meets your needs.
Is a Chromebox worth it?
Not sure whether to buy a Google Chromebox? There are several reasons why a Chromebox may be a good investment. For instance, most Chromeboxes are 6” x 6” x 2” or less in size, allowing these to take up less space on your desk than a traditional desktop computer tower. You can also use the USB-C™ port to charge your CTL Chromebox and accessories.
Chromebox PCs are also typically used to stream video in the classroom, at home, or in the workplace. Many customers even use Chromeboxes for digital signage to promote events, demonstrate their products, and more during trade shows, conferences, or at their business.
In addition to their versatility, Chromeboxes are generally very affordable. At CTL, Google Chromebox prices range between $149 to $1,700. Generally, the higher cost may mean it’s brand-new, has more storage, or has a faster processor. At CTL, we have Google Chromeboxes that can meet all budgets.
Is a Chromebox better than a Chromebook?
Whether a Chromebox is better than a Chromebook ultimately depends on your specific needs. For example, if you’re a bustling entrepreneur or a busy student, you’ll need something robust, portable, and not too heavy, so you can work whenever and wherever. Although a Chromebox is small and powerful, it needs to be plugged into a monitor, which will require a table or desk and a nearby outlet. On the other hand, Chromebooks are lightweight and specifically designed to take your work on the go.
Can I use a Google Mini with Chromebox?
While you can’t directly control your Chromebox with a Google Nest Mini, you can redirect the sound from your Chrome PC to a Google Home device via bluetooth. This allows you to listen to music or videos from whichever Google Home product you want, regardless of the room they’re in.
If a Chromebox seems like a right fit for you, shop our collection of Chrome all-in-one computers to find the perfect setup for your space. We sell our Chromeboxes with the option to bundle them with output devices (screens or touchscreens) and input devices (keyboards or touchscreens).
