CHALLENGE
Client needed return program management of devices, including refurbishment and deployment,
as well as ongoing recycling services for decommissioned hardware.
SOLUTION
3R Technology created a customized program that enabled remote workers to easily send in their decommissioned devices for processing. Devices were audited, wiped, refurbished, and made available once again for production.
Client has self-service ability to request devices for redeployment and fulfillment to the user location, including installation of custom imaging. Roughly 300 devices have been processed to date, extending product life and cutting client costs. In addition, almost $30,000 of reuse value has so far been returned to the client.
PROBLEM
Four data center locations across the US needed to be decommissioned, including asset de-racking and removal, and onsite storage shredding for approximately 10,000 assets and over 8,000 drives.
SOLUTION
CTL's ITAD team facilitated secure NAID-AAA certified shredding of all solid state and mechanical storage onsite, including serial number capture. Assets were securely transported back to CTL's facility for audit, discovery, and factory configuration resets. In addition to fulfilling the project under timeline requirements, a revenue share of over $525,000 of value for the resalable assets was delivered back to the client. This resulted in a large net positive return for the client, along with certified data destruction and R2v3 recycling of any unsalable assets and electronic waste.
