Google announced the recent increase of Chrome Education Upgrade pricing that will go into effect on March 9, 2021. Due to COVID-19 challenges, Google is delaying the price increase to help relieve any further constraint on schools and businesses. Previously $30 USD, Chrome Education Upgrade pricing will increase to $38 USD per device license.
What’s changing about Chrome Education Upgrade licensing?
The announcement to increase Chrome Education Upgrade pricing is to accommodate the extension of Auto Update Expiration (AUE) policy from 6.5 years to 8 years. Google has also added a lot of value Chrome Education Upgrade with continuous rollouts of new productivity and collaboration features and updates.
What’s to come with Google Chrome Education Upgrade?
Along with another 1.5 years added to AUE policies, Google plans to launch about 10x the amount of features including enhanced management capabilities like additional OS management, access restriction settings, and more.
